Why does a watch need servicing?
As with all precision instruments, a watch should be regularly serviced by an officially certified customer service centre so that it continues to function perfectly – as one would do with a car. After all, each second that your watch ticks is a moment of precision and performance. The frequency with which a watch should be serviced depends on the model, climatic conditions and the habits of the wearer. As a rule, a general service is recommended every three to four years.

Looking for the serial number on a watch is straightforward. However, depending on the brand, it can difficult to find or identify. E.g., Rolex has its serial numbers hidden between the lugs, whereas Certina has theirs on the caseback. The serial number is commonly engraved on the caseback of a watch. Alternatively, the serial number can be located between the lugs or engraved on the lugs. The international guarantee covers material and manufacturing defects from the time of delivery of the purchased watch. The guarantee only applies if the guarantee certificate is fully accomplished with the following information – purchase date, watch reference and serial number, and stamped by an official Certina dealer.
